LONDON: Seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic has been knocked out of the Wimbledon 2025 tournament after a stunning straight-sets defeat in the semi-final.
World number one Jannik Sinner of Italy delivered a commanding performance to defeat Serbia’s Djokovic 6-3, 6-3, 6-4, securing his place in the final of the prestigious Grand Slam.
The 22-year-old Sinner displayed exceptional control and aggression, ending Djokovic’s dream of an eighth Wimbledon title and marking a major milestone in his own career with this landmark victory.
Earlier, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz of Spain booked his place in the final by overcoming America’s Taylor Fritz. Despite a dip in form during the second set where Fritz broke serve for the only time Alcaraz regained momentum by breaking twice in the third and clinching a tense tiebreak.
The stage is now set for a highly anticipated Wimbledon men’s singles final on Sunday, featuring Italy’s Jannik Sinner against Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in what promises to be a thrilling showdown between two of the sport’s brightest young stars.
