Pakistan shines at 7th Asian Taekwondo Open Championships

The Combaxx 7th Asian Taekwondo Open Championships delivered thrilling competition on Sunday, with athletes from across Asia battling for supremacy in various weight categories.

Pakistan showcased its dominance, securing an impressive 2 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze medals across both male and female divisions, further strengthening its position in the championship.

In the Male -48kg category, Ahmed Muzamil clinched a silver medal for Pakistan, while Qureshi Muhammad Suleman and Ansari secured bronze. The gold in this category was claimed by Tamim Rahmani of Afghanistan.

The Male -55kg division saw another intense contest, with Akeed Hukmuddin of Afghanistan winning gold. Pakistan’s Yasir Muhammad bagged silver, while Sameer Muhammad and Akbar Sh Muhammad Muaz earned bronze, adding to the country’s medal count.

Pakistan also dominated the Female -44kg category, where Anwar Ayesha secured a gold medal, followed by Habiba Umme with silver. Sarwary Manahil and Aslam Safia took home bronze, marking an all-Pakistani podium finish.

The country’s winning streak continued in the Female -49kg category, with Khan Aiman clinching gold and Fatima Ghouse securing silver. Meanwhile, Khawakani Fatima Tuz Zahra and Khan Khadija grabbed bronze medals, reinforcing Pakistan’s growing strength in women’s taekwondo.

With these outstanding performances on Day Three, Pakistan has further solidified its presence in the competition. As more weight categories remain to be contested, the nation’s athletes are determined to add to their remarkable medal haul and bring further glory to Pakistan.
