Captain (Retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry on Tuesday formally took command of Islamabad Police as its new Inspector General, placing public safety, crime prevention and rule of law at the heart of his policing agenda and promising better and timely services for citizens. An official told media that the new IGP Sohail received a warm welcome from officers and personnel on his arrival at the Central Police Office (CPO), where a formal change-of-command ceremony was held.
A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour to the new police chief.
IGP Sohail held introductory meetings with senior police officers and received detailed briefings on professional and operational matters. He also met staff at the Central Police Office and discussed various policing issues.
