LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman Wednesday warned, “We will end the talks if the government didn’t accept our demands”.
“The decision will then be held at roads,” Hafiz Naeem said while talking to media.
He said that the government collecting over 1500 billion rupees levy on petroleum while offering Rs. 25 billion relief to people. “The government should withdraw the levy instead of distributing charity,” he said.
JI leader said that the government has orchestrated a system to keep the people in lines.
He urged to restrict the government ministers and bureaucrats to 1300 CC vehicles.
He also demanded inquiry into the use of the chief minister of Punjab’s official airplane.
Hafiz Naeem on Tuesday said that protest sit-ins and the march would not end until withdrawal of the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL).
“They are offering Rs 25 billion monthly relief but avoiding to take the levy back,” talking to media Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said.
He said the government is not ready to surrender its luxuries, a secretary takes Rs. two million to attend a meeting.
JI leader said that the government has issued more advertisements than the value of the relief offered on petrol.
He said the party has finalized its preparations for the Islamabad March on September 20.
