Princess Maria Carolina has made her relationship with French politician Jordan Bardella Instagram official after months of speculation surrounding their romance.
The eldest daughter of Italian royals Prince Carlo, Duke of Castro, and Princess Camilla shared a series of photographs from a family holiday on Instagram earlier this week. Among the pictures was a loved-up selfie featuring her and Bardella smiling together.
The 23-year-old princess captioned the post with three butterfly emojis, while her followers were quick to react to the couple’s public appearance. Several fans left messages praising the pair and expressing their happiness for the princess.
Romance rumors surrounding Maria Carolina and Bardella first emerged in January, when the pair were reportedly spotted together at an event in Paris celebrating the 200th anniversary of Le Figaro newspaper.
Bardella, who serves as president of France’s Rassemblement National party, had previously avoided discussing the relationship publicly. When questioned about his private life, he described it as his “last space of liberty.”
The pair appeared to confirm their romance in June when they attended the Monaco Grand Prix together.
Maria Carolina is also known as the Duchess of Calabria and Duchess of Palermo. She is one of two contenders to the headship of the royal house of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, although the titles have no legal standing in the Italian Republic.
