{"id":9941,"date":"2023-10-02T06:44:07","date_gmt":"2023-10-02T06:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/gang-behind-328-illegal-transplants-busted-the-express-tribune\/"},"modified":"2023-10-02T06:44:07","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T06:44:07","slug":"gang-behind-328-illegal-transplants-busted-the-express-tribune","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/gang-behind-328-illegal-transplants-busted-the-express-tribune\/","title":{"rendered":"Gang behind 328 illegal transplants busted | The Express Tribune"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"\">\n<strong class=\"location-names\"><br \/>\nLAHORE:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"color:black\">Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced that Lahore police have apprehended the leader and members of a gang involved in doing 328 unlawful kidney transplants. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"color:black\">The team that busted the gang will be awarded Rs500,000, he announced at a news conference, confirming that a doctor, Fawad Mukhtar, and all members of his gang had been apprehended.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"color:black\">Dr Mukhtar had allegedly unlawfully extracted 328 people\u2019s kidneys and performed transplant surgeries by duping, dodging or luring the victims. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"color:black\">The caretaker CM disclosed that the doctor involved in the case had been arrested five times and he had continued his illegal practice after getting released every time. He said a police team conniving the escape of Dr Mukhtar had been suspended. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"color:black\">He also disclosed that the death of three patients due to gang\u2019s surgeries had also been confirmed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:black\"><strong>Chinese National Day<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"color:black\">Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also called on Acting Chinese Consul General Cao Ke at the Chinese Consulate and congratulated him on the National Day of the People\u2019s Republic of China. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"color:black\">The caretaker CM, acting Chinese consul general, caretaker information minister and chief secretary jointly cut a cake on the occasion.
