Islamabad \u2014 In a partial relief for consumers, the federal government has announced a significant cut in the price of petrol by Rs7.54 per litre, while slightly increasing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs1.48 per litre.<\/p>\n

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the revised prices of petroleum products will take effect from midnight tonight (August 1).<\/p>\n

With this latest revision:
\u2022 Petrol will now be available at Rs264.61 per litre
\u2022 High-speed diesel will cost Rs285.83 per litre<\/p>\n

The move comes after four consecutive price hikes in recent weeks, and aligns with falling global oil prices and reduced import premiums, officials say.<\/p>\n

Earlier reports had suggested a possible reduction of around Rs9 per litre in petrol and Rs3.50 per litre in diesel, based on international market trends.
