Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt, who last shared the screen with Tom Cruise, at least three decades ago, revealed that they could have reunited for the car racing movie \u2018Ford v Ferrari\u2019<\/em>, but the latter backed out.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the much-hyped red carpet encounter of Hollywood superstars Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise sparked the speculations of on-screen reunion, possibly in a sequel to filmmaker Joseph Kosinski\u2019s recently-released \u2018F1\u2019<\/em> movie, the former revealed that the two could have also starred in sports biopic \u2018Ford v Ferrari\u2019<\/em>, with the \u2018Top Gun: Maverick\u2019<\/em> director at the helm, if Cruise wouldn\u2019t have left the project.<\/p>\n

Basking on the success of his \u2018F1: The Movie\u2019<\/em>, Pitt shared in a recent interview that him and Cruise were on board to play Ken Miles and Carroll Shelby in the title.<\/p>\n

\u201cTom and I, for a while there, were on Ford v Ferrari<\/em> with Joe [to direct]. This was about 10 years before the guys who actually made it,\u201d he shared. \u201cAnd made it a great movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking about the reason, the \u2018Wolfs\u2019<\/em> actor divulged, \u201cWhat it came down to is that we both wanted to drive, and [Tom] wanted to play Shelby, and I wanted to play Ken Miles. And when Tom realized that Carroll Shelby would not be driving much in the movie, it didn\u2019t come through.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I\u2019m not sure how that\u2019s going to work [in a potential \u2018F1\u2019<\/em> sequel], but we\u2019ll give it a go. I\u2019d love to,\u201d he maintained in the end.<\/p>\n

It is pertinent to mention here that \u2018Ford v Ferrari\u2019<\/em> eventually starred Christian Bale and Matt Damon in lead roles, and was directed by James Mangold, after studio didn\u2019t approve of Kosinski\u2019s desired budget for the racing movie.<\/p>\n
