Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film already has strong momentum, especially after the trailer received an overwhelmingly positive response. As for a potential third installment, Gupta says he\u2019ll consider \u201cRaid 3\u201d only after the release of the upcoming film.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview, Raj Kumar Gupta discussed \u201cRaid 2\u201d and addressed the possibility of \u201cRaid 3\u201d. Smiling, he said, \u201cLet\u2019s release \u201cRaid 2\u201d first.\u201d He emphasized that a filmmaker\u2019s priority is to ensure a timely release and shared that he looks forward to the audience\u2019s positive reaction once the film is out.<\/p>\n<p>Raj Kumar Gupta shared that Raid 2 took two and a half years of his time. \u201cWe wrote this film for one and a half years, though it\u2019s based on a real-life story. This time, we have tried to bring in a lot of fictional elements as well,\u201d he mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>However, the filmmaker revealed that he has some scripts ready and plans to decide on them after \u201cRaid 2\u201d releases. He added that he already knows what he wants to work on next, but several factors must align first. \u201cYou may want to make a film on a particular script, but you might end up doing something else,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<p>For those who don\u2019t know, \u201cRaid\u201d (2018) featured Ajay Devgn in the lead role, with Ileana D\u2019Cruz and Saurabh Shukla playing key characters. In \u201cRaid 2\u201d, Riteish Deshmukh takes on the role of the antagonist, while Vaani Kapoor steps in to play Ajay\u2019s character\u2019s wife, replacing Ileana. At the trailer launch of \u201cRaid 2\u201d, Vaani addressed the casting change and said she felt no jealousy toward the \u201cprevious one,\u201d adding that she shares a great off-screen bond with Ileana.<\/p>\n<p>Ajay Devgn also addressed Vaani replacing Ileana and pointed out that audiences have seen similar casting changes in many Hollywood films before. \u201cStill, Sean Connery is not the only James Bond. It\u2019s the character you follow, and then new people keep coming in,\u201d he added.
