The conference, themed \u201cFostering Collaboration, Engagement, and Innovation \u2013 Journey to an Insured Pakistan,\u201d brought together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, and development partners to discuss the future of Pakistan\u2019s insurance sector.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the event, the finance minister highlighted Pakistan\u2019s progress toward economic stability under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He shared that during his recent meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the organization acknowledged the reform-driven approach adopted by the government. He noted that the economic policies of the past several months have strengthened Pakistan\u2019s financial position, setting the stage for long-term growth.\u201dMacroeconomic stability has been achieved.<\/p>\n<p>Our next priority is structural reforms in taxation, energy, and financial sectors to ensure sustainable economic progress,\u201d the minister stated. Commending SECP\u2019s efforts in bringing collaboration among industry stakeholders, Muhammad Aurangzeb said, \u201cIt is the collaboration between SECP, business leaders, and industry stakeholders that will drive real change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRecognizing the insurance sector\u2019s efforts in digital transformation, the minister noted that Pakistan\u2019s insurance landscape is evolving in the right direction, with the integration of digital tools making processes better, faster, and more affordable. \u201cUltimately, everything is interconnected.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve an insured Pakistan, we must focus on making services more accessible and cost-effective,\u201d he remarked. He also highlighted the importance of adopting a forward-thinking approach, particularly in leveraging new financial assets and innovative solutions in various sectors.The minister urged industry leaders to collaborate in addressing national challenges, particularly climate change. He stressed the importance of a proactive risk mitigation approach, citing climate-related risks that require immediate attention. \u201cClimate change is a critical issue, and we must develop risk mitigation strategies to address its growing impact. The insurance industry must expand its role beyond health coverage to other essential sectors,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Minister acknowledged that while the insurance sector has made progress in health-related coverage, other areas must be strengthened to ensure comprehensive protection for citizens.While discussing Pakistan\u2019s growing population, he encouraged insurance companies to introduce innovative policies that cater to the evolving needs of the people. Furthermore, he assured the industry of the government\u2019s full support in strengthening policy frameworks and ensuring regulatory stability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe federal cabinet and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are committed to policy continuity.
