The event will be open to the public for free.<\/p>\n<p>The reconstruction project, which began on September 28, 2024, was completed on January 31, 2025. According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, major upgrades include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete demolition and rebuilding of the pavilion building.<\/li>\n<li>New seating installed in all enclosures.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced LED floodlights and modern score screens for an enhanced viewing experience.<\/li>\n<li>Removal of fences to provide better spectator visibility.<\/li>\n<li>Renovation of hospitality boxes for improved comfort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Naqvi praised the labourers, FWO, Nespak, contractors, and the PCB team for their dedication in completing the project on time.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrades are part of Pakistan\u2019s preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, ensuring top-class facilities for both spectators and players. The tournament will be held from February 19 to March 9, with matches in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.<\/p>\n<p>In a post on X, Naqvi announced that Ali Zafar, Shafqat Amanat Ali, and Sahir Ali Bagga will perform at the inauguration ceremony, adding to the excitement.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated Gaddafi Stadium Lahore after similar renovations. Gaddafi Stadium will host its first Champions Trophy match on February 22, featuring a highly anticipated clash between England and Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the tri-nation series between Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa is also being hosted at the renovated Karachi and Lahore stadiums, running from February 8 to 14.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan is set to host 10 matches of the Champions Trophy, with four matches in Dubai, including all of India\u2019s group-stage games and the first semi-final.
