A police official on Saturday was shot and injured by unidentified suspects near Naurus Chowrangi within the limits of the Site A Section police station.<\/p>\n
The injured cop was identified as 47-year-old Hanif, son of Majeed Shah. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital for medical treatment, where his condition was reported to be out of danger.<\/p>\n
Police said the injured officer served as an inspector in the SSU Security-II at Hasan Square and was currently incharge of the security of former caretaker chief minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar\u2019s residence.Police said this was not apparently a robbery-related incident.<\/p>\n
