The messages reveal Baldoni\u2019s text and email exchanges with PR executive Jennifer Abel and crisis management expert Melissa Nathan, allegedly plotting a smear campaign to \u201cdestroy\u201d Lively\u2019s reputation.<\/p>\n<p>Justin Baldoni\u2019s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, denied the allegations, calling them \u201cfalse, outrageous, and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly harm\u201d in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>One exchange allegedly shows Baldoni sharing a screenshot of a post on X (formerly Twitter) titled \u201cHailey Bieber\u2019s history of bullying many women.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is what we would need,\u201d he wrote in the text to Abel. \u201cYes, I literally just spoke to Melissa about this on the break about what we discussed last night for social and digital. Focus on Reddit, TikTok, [Instagram],\u201d she replied.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint alleges that Abel messaged Nathan, expressing her desire to \u201cplant pieces\u201d portraying Lively as difficult to work with. Nathan reportedly agreed, replying, \u201cSame,\u201d and noted that one of her journalist friends was \u201cready when we are\u201d to initiate the alleged smear campaign.<\/p>\n<p>One of Lively\u2019s lawsuits filed in California alleges that Baldoni\u2019s behavior behind closed doors caused her to experience \u201cgrief, fear, trauma, and extreme anxiety.\u201d The lawsuit states, \u201cMs. Lively has endured extreme emotional distress, impacting not only her but also her family, including her husband and four children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the complaint, the production team, crew, and Lively\u2019s husband, Ryan Reynolds, held multiple meetings to address Baldoni\u2019s alleged misconduct toward her.
