Veteran Hollywood actor Denzel Washington, who recently appeared in \u2018Gladiator 2,\u2019 has clarified his statement about taking retirement from acting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reports about his imminent retirement began circulating in the media after the actor, in an earlier interview, indicated that he wanted to make films with the best and then bid farewell to the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this point in my career, I\u2019m only interested in working with the best. I don\u2019t know how many more films I will make; probably not that many. I want to do things that I haven\u2019t done,\u201d said Denzel Washington.<\/p>\n

During the interview, the \u2018Gladiator 2\u2019 actor also confirmed that he will be playing a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe \u2018s \u2018Black Panther 3<\/a>\u2019 directed by Ryan Coogler.<\/p>\n

It is to be noted that Marvel has not yet announced the film\u2019s third instalment.<\/p>\n

Now, the Hollywood actor clarified his statement about his retirement, saying that it was \u2018not over yet\u2019 as he had many projects in the pipeline.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t say I was going to go into retirement. I said that it has to be a level of interest for me. I\u2019m more interested in getting behind the camera, so that\u2019s about five years out,\u201d Denzel Washington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not retiring. It\u2019s not like on June 5, that\u2019s it. But to think that I\u2019m going to run as far as they are or as far as you are, I\u2019d be a fool,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Gladiator 2\u2019 actor also revealed that he wants to work as a director, an indication that he will not be retiring anytime soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said I have all these films to do and then I want to get behind the camera, which is going to take a year or two, or three,\u201d said Washington. \u201cSo, do the math, I think I mentioned five or six films [so] even if I did one a year \u2013 which it won\u2019t be \u2013 but even if I did, that is six years and I\u2019m 70 in a month, that\u2019s 76.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
