While promoting her latest film \u201cMaria\u201d at its Los Angeles premiere, Jolie shared her thoughts on the idea of starring in a romantic comedy.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the media, the Oscar-winning actress shared that her closest experience with a rom-com was playing Maleficent in Disney\u2019s 2014 film and its 2019 sequel.<\/p>\n<p>In the \u201cMaleficent\u201d movies, Jolie\u2019s character develops feelings for Diaval. Despite her years in Hollywood, Jolie has never taken on a true romance movie, though many of her characters have had subtle romantic storylines. Her filmography leans heavily toward thrillers, including titles like \u201cGirl, Interrupted\u201d, \u201dLara Croft: Tomb Raider\u201d, and \u201cMr. &amp; Mrs. Smith\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>While sitting down for an interview with the entertainment portal, the Hollywood star shared, \u201cI don\u2019t know how good I\u2019d be at a rom-com.\u201d She further added, \u201cI think Maleficent was the closest I got; I thought she was in love with Diaval. I thought it was a bit of a rom-com; I may have been on my own there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In her new project, \u201cMaria\u201d, Jolie takes on the role of opera singer Maria Callas.
