The movie follows the journey of a service robot named Roz (voiced by Lupita Nyong\u2019o) as she tries to adapt to an uninhabited island after a shipwreck, taking on the role of an adoptive mother to an orphaned goose named Brightbill (voiced by Kit Connor).<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the film\u2019s release, Pinkvilla had an exclusive chat with director Chris Sanders, where he shared his favorite sequences from \u201cThe Wild Robot\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>During the conversation, Sanders described the process of choosing his favorite scene as a \u201cwonderful problem,\u201d admitting that he had never worked on a film before where he found himself thinking, \u201cThis is my favorite!\u201d and then immediately followed it with, \u201cNo, this is my favorite!\u201d for every sequence that came up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt may sound like I\u2019m just making that up, but I\u2019m not,\u201d he shared. The director revealed that a pivotal moment in the middle of the movie, when Brightbill has to leave for migration, is a sequence that holds a special place in his heart.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe scale of that color and the direction of that I thought was just so beautifully done,\u201d Sanders shared. He then explained how he wanted the characters to be standing \u201cin the cool shadows of the morning\u201d right before the sun is just coming up and as \u201cthey take flight they touch the golden warm sunlight and there\u2019s a shift in color as they rise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chris Sanders also shared that his ultimate favorite sequence from the movie is the scene that follows the aforementioned moment. \u201cIt\u2019s titled \u2018The Signal,\u2019 and after the geese leave, Roz has now completed her mission,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s ready to leave the island and the island is going to sleep for the winter,\u201d Sanders added. \u201cThe shift in mood and color, is something that I experienced as a kid growing up in Colorado as summer turned to fall. The feeling that you have to capture is a very specific one, it\u2019s very hard to describe. But the artists did something that I thought was unbelievably beautiful during that moment,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders described how everything turns quiet in the sequence, with the colors shifting from the browns of fall to greens and grays before the snow begins to fall.
