He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Malika\u2019s statement continued to highlight the family&#8217;s grief, &#8220;Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support, and respect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Anil Mehta, a former Indian Merchant Navy officer, originated from the border town of Fazilka.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">After separating from Malaika&#8217;s mother when she was 11 years old, Malaika, her sister Amrita, and their mother moved to Chembur.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In earlier interviews, Malaika reflected on her childhood as a blend of both joyous and difficult experiences.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">She noted that the separation played a crucial role in developing her strong sense of independence and resilience.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThose early lessons are the cornerstones of my life and professional journey. I am still fiercely independent.
