ISLAMABAD \u2013 Widespread monsoon rains and gusty winds are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate upper\/central parts of Pakistan. It will likely strengthen from tomorrow (evening\/night). A trough of westerly wave also prevails over upper parts of the country.<\/p>\n

Under these conditions, widespread monsoon rain-wind\/thunderstorms are predicted in the twin cities, Kashmir, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, east\/south Balochistan and Sindh on Monday night and the following two days with occasional gaps. Isolated heavy falls are also predicted during the forecast period. Hot and very humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.<\/p>\n

Heavy falls may generate flash flooding in local nullahs\/streams of Murree, Galliyat, Manshera, Kohistan, Malakand, Dir Swat, Shangla, Bunner, Kurrum, Orakzai, Khyber, Mohmand, Nowshera, Swabi and Kashmir.<\/p>\n

Urban flooding is also expected in low lying areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on July 23 and July 24. Landslides may disrupt traffic in vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the wet period.<\/p>\n

Islamabad\u2019s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38\u00b0C on Tuesday and Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Rawalpindi\u2019s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40\u00b0C on Tuesday and 36-38\u00b0C on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind\/thundershowers occurred in the twin cities and at isolated places in south Sindh, northeast Punjab, Potohar region, Kashmir and North Balochistan.<\/p>\n

Sibbi remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47\u00b0C. Maximum temperature in Nokkundi and Dalbandin was recorded at 46\u00b0C, and Dadu, Jacobabad, Rohri and Kot Addu at 45\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 39\u00b0C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 62 per cent.<\/p>\n

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 37\u00b0C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 54 per cent.<\/p>\n
