The board of Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) has decided to construct eight underpasses and flyovers on Ring Road and other important roads and arteries aimed at addressing issues relating to traffic flow in the provincial capital.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 11th board meeting of PDA, was held on Thursday with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur in the chair. initially, it was decided, three underpasses and flyovers on Ring Road and five at other points with congestion and heavy flow of traffic, would be constructed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Provincial Minister for Local Government, Arshad Ayub Khan, Peshawar Mayor Haji Zubair Ali, administrative secretaries of the departments concerned and other board members attended the meeting. As many as 33 agenda items were discussed and a number of important decisions were taken.<\/span><\/p>\n

The board approved a plan for widening and rehabilitation of Ring Road and solarisation of tube wells being operated under administrative control of PDA. The solarisation of tube wells was expected to save Rs810 million, annually, in terms of electricity bills, the meeting was informed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The forum also approved action plan for establishing education complex at town and the PDA\u2019s sub office at the site of Regi Lalma Model Town. It also accorded conditional approval to different rules and regulations under PDA act 2017<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting decided that a committee, headed by the minister for local government, would further look into the proposed rules and regulations and finalise them within the next 14 days.<\/span><\/p>\n

Similarly, the board conditionally approved the proposed action plan for constructing high-rise buildings at different PDA\u2019s sites under Public Private Partnership, in addition to according approval to provide lands, required for establishing a Forensic Science Laboratory at Hayatabad and a Paraplegic Centre at Regi Model Town.<\/span><\/p>\n

The chief minister, on this occasion, directed for taking steps for installing solar lights at the central media on the GT Road from Peshawar Motorway to Hayatabad. He further directed for steps on priority basis for the renovation and beautification of grey structure of Bus Rapid Transit.<\/span><\/p>\n
