{"id":77999,"date":"2024-04-01T18:36:20","date_gmt":"2024-04-01T18:36:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/nepra-notifies-rs2-75-per-unit-hike-in-power-tariff-ahead-of-eidul-fitr\/"},"modified":"2024-04-01T18:36:20","modified_gmt":"2024-04-01T18:36:20","slug":"nepra-notifies-rs2-75-per-unit-hike-in-power-tariff-ahead-of-eidul-fitr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/nepra-notifies-rs2-75-per-unit-hike-in-power-tariff-ahead-of-eidul-fitr\/","title":{"rendered":"NEPRA notifies Rs2.75 per unit hike in power tariff ahead of Eidul Fitr"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_79\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong>KARACHI: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Monday notified Rs2.75 per unit increase in the uniform electricity rate for all consumers across the country, including Karachi, ARY News reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This hike is part of the second quarterly tariff adjustment (QTA) mechanism designed to offset the financial pressures on power companies.<\/p>\n<p>The hike will apply to all electricity users except \u201clifeline consumers\u201d, who use less than 100 units monthly.<\/p>\n<p>The new tariff would be in effect for the upcoming three months, imposing a significant burden on consumers amounting to Rs85.2 billion.<\/p>\n<p>This increase, which will show up in the electricity bills for April, May, and June, is the result of several factors \u2018influencing\u2019 the operational costs of the power industry.
