Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, made a one-day visit to Gwadar on Thursday, where he presided over a high-level meeting focusing on law and order as well as development projects. The meeting, attended by key officials including Member of the National Assembly Malik Shah Gorgeaig, Member of Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Secretary Zahid Saleem, IG Police Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, Secretary Fisheries Imran Gichki, and others, discussed various crucial matters.<\/p>\n

One of the main agendas of the meeting was to assess the progress of the Gwadar Safe City project and to review the overall law and order situation in the region. Officials from the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) briefed attendees on the ongoing drainage measures in Gwadar city.<\/p>\n

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti underscored the significance of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects for the development of both Pakistan and Balochistan. He emphasized that the progress of Gwadar is intricately linked with the progress of Balochistan and the entire nation.<\/p>\n

Bugti reaffirmed the commitment of both federal and provincial governments to utilize all available resources for the comprehensive development of Gwadar. He emphasized the importance of providing foolproof security to Chinese experts and all workers involved in CPEC projects, ensuring adherence to stringent security protocols.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of continuously implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain security measures, with plans to review and update them every fifteen days.<\/p>\n

Bugti also lauded the role of the Pakistan Army and civil forces in restoring peace in the region, emphasizing that rehabilitation and peace-building efforts remain top priorities. He acknowledged the tireless efforts of security agencies and the entire nation over the past three decades in combating various security challenges, underscoring their invaluable contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the region.<\/p>\n
