{"id":76081,"date":"2024-03-27T18:26:05","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T18:26:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/young-man-injured-after-tangled-in-loose-kite-string-in-karachi\/"},"modified":"2024-03-27T18:26:05","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T18:26:05","slug":"young-man-injured-after-tangled-in-loose-kite-string-in-karachi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/young-man-injured-after-tangled-in-loose-kite-string-in-karachi\/","title":{"rendered":"Young man injured after tangled in loose kite string in Karachi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>A 20-year-old man was injured after getting tangled in a loose kite string in the Azizabad area in Karachi on Wednesday, according to the police.<\/p>\n<p>Central Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi said that Awais was riding a motorbike when he was entrapped by kite string in Mohammadi Colony.<\/p>\n<p>The SSP said the 20-year-old was shifted to a hospital where his condition was said to be out of danger.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the police have launched a crackdown against kite flying and manufacturing of kites.<\/p>\n<p>SSP Siddiqi said the police seized thousands of \u201cdangerous strings\u201d and burnt them to avoid tragic incidents during their raids in several areas of district central.<\/p>\n<p>The incident comes in the wake of the Punjab police\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1823541\/police-swoop-on-kite-flyers-after-fatal-incidents\">intensifying<\/a> crackdown across the province on kite flying after two deaths in Sargodha and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1823178\">Faisalabad<\/a> due to the strings of stray kites.<\/p>\n<p>The two incidents had forced Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to call a meeting on law and order and crime situation on Sunday where she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1823342\">ordered<\/a> a crackdown on the making, selling, and buying of chemical string used in kites.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  sm:w-1\/2  w-full  media--right  media--embed  media--uneven\">\n<p>    <iframe class=\"nk-iframe\" onload=\"setInterval(()=&gt;{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)\" width=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"height:400px;position:relative\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/card\/1823342\" sandbox=\"allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Following her directives, the police had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1823569\">arrested<\/a> four persons in Rawalpindi, recovering 340 kites and strings.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, police had arrested 422 kite sellers in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1824007\/422-kite-sellers-arrested-in-sahiwal-okara\">Sahiwal<\/a> and Okara in the operation against kite flying.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 20-year-old man was injured after getting tangled in a loose kite string in the Azizabad area in Karachi on Wednesday, according to the police.
