Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed the ups and downs of his Hollywood career, notably missing out on playing Batman in Christopher Nolan’s \u201cBatman Begins.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite the initial disappointment, Gyllenhaal shared an optimistic view during a candid conversation on \u201cThe Howard Stern Show,\u201d underlining the importance of perseverance in the acting industry.<\/p>\n

The actor recalled the competitive audition processes for roles in \u201cMoulin Rouge!\u201d and \u201cBatman Begins,\u201d where he was a finalist alongside stars like Heath Ledger and Ewan McGregor.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite not landing these roles, Gyllenhaal highlighted the turning points in his career, including a personal call from Christopher Nolan. “I remember getting a call from Christopher Nolan and thinking, \u2018I just got a call personally from Christopher Nolan. That\u2019s pretty cool. I\u2019ve gotten pretty far,'” Gyllenhaal expressed.<\/p>\n

Although he failed to bag the DC role, he did manage to play Mysterio in MCU\u2019s\u00a0 “Spider-Man: Far From Home.”<\/p>\n

David S Goyer, the co-writer of \u201cBatman Begins,\u201d even confirmed that Gyllenhaal was his top choice for the Batman role, which eventually went to Christian Bale.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gyllenhaal\u2019s attitude towards these experiences is uplifting: \u201cLook at how far you got! So just try and keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recently, Gyllenhaal told Screen Rant that he remains open to the idea of playing Batman, calling it a “classic” and an “honor” to consider.\u00a0<\/p>\n
