Giant monsters Kong and Godzilla are back after 2021\u2019s \u2018Godzilla vs. Kong\u2019<\/em> but this time, instead of causing devastating destruction by fighting each other, they are teaming up \u2013 and causing devastating destruction together.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire\u2019<\/em> sees not only the return of the two titans but also actors Rebecca Hall\u2019s scientist Ilene Andrews and Brian Tyree Henry\u2019s conspiracy theorist Bernie. It introduces \u2018Downton Abbey\u2019<\/em> and \u2018Beauty and the Beast\u2019<\/em> actor Dan Stevens as eccentric veterinarian Trapper.<\/p>\n

In the sequel, Kong and Godzilla both sense a threat coming from Hollow Earth, where both originate from, and they can only win by teaming up together. They are aided on their mission by Andrews\u2019 adopted daughter Jia, played by Kaylee Hottle, who can also sense the hidden enemy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe technology\u2019s there, the confidence is there, it\u2019s time to be able for the first time ever to do a movie that lets the (monsters) tell their own story from their own (point of view),\u201d director Adam Wingard told Reuters.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just very excited to be able to do all these sequences where they\u2019re visually driven and we go sometimes eight minutes without a line of dialogue and you\u2019re just there with the monsters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the dream movie I\u2019d always wanted to see as a kid and that\u2019s what this is all about, fulfilling that lifelong sort of goal,\u201d added Wingard, who also directed \u2018Godzilla vs. Kong\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The cast had to give highly energetic performances to keep up with the lead monsters and were often helped by LED screens showing what they were reacting to. Tyree Henry\u2019s Bernie is the most freaked out.<\/p>\n

\u201cCount how many times I say \u2018oh my god\u2019, like how many times it\u2019s screamed, how many times it\u2019s whispered because that is literally the state of panic I found my character in for most of this movie,\u201d the actor said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire\u2019<\/em> begins its global cinema rollout from Wednesday.<\/p>\n
