{"id":75811,"date":"2024-03-27T00:35:54","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T00:35:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/pti-founder-nominated-sher-afzal-marwat-for-pac-chairman-slot\/"},"modified":"2024-03-27T00:35:54","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T00:35:54","slug":"pti-founder-nominated-sher-afzal-marwat-for-pac-chairman-slot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/pti-founder-nominated-sher-afzal-marwat-for-pac-chairman-slot\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018PTI founder nominated Sher Afzal Marwat for PAC chairman slot\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_79\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong>ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan has claimed that party founder Imran Khan has nominated Sher Afzal Marwat as the candidate for the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman\u2019s role, ARY News reported on Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at ARY News programme \u2018Off the Record\u2019, the former federal minister said that the PAC chairman slot was the prerogative of the opposition and there is currently only one opposition party in Parliament \u2013 PTI.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe title=\"Who will be the Chairman of Public Accounts Committee? - Ali Muhammad Khan Told Everything\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eHi4k_MXK60?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Responding to a question, Ali Muhmmad Khan denied knowledge of reports suggesting that National Assembly (NA) Speaker has refused to make Sher Afzal Marwat the Chairman PAC.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, PTI leader Barrister Gohar also said that <a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/sher-afzal-marwat-pac-chairman-barrister-gohar\/\">Sher Afzal Marwat<\/a> will be the party\u2019s nominee for the Parliament\u2019s Public Accounts Committee (PAC).<\/p>\n<p>Today, Ali Muhammad also rejected reports of any forward bloc in PTI, saying that party\u2019s founder Imran Khan is incarcerated and difference of opinion cannot be ruled out. \u201cOur focus is on inflation, economy, release of Imran Khan and party workers,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>To another question, he said that a heated exchange occurred during PTI\u2019s Core Committee meeting, but rejected rumours about a fight.<\/p>\n<p>Sources privy to the meeting revealed a sharp exchange of words between PTI members Sher Afzal Marwat and Niazullah Niazi.
