{"id":73415,"date":"2024-03-20T17:08:24","date_gmt":"2024-03-20T17:08:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/india-banned-9-pro-freedom-organizations-in-iiojk-pakistan-observer\/"},"modified":"2024-03-20T17:08:24","modified_gmt":"2024-03-20T17:08:24","slug":"india-banned-9-pro-freedom-organizations-in-iiojk-pakistan-observer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/india-banned-9-pro-freedom-organizations-in-iiojk-pakistan-observer\/","title":{"rendered":"India banned 9 pro-freedom organizations in IIOJK &#8211; Pakistan Observer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<tts-play-button data-id=\"2\" class=\"tts_play_button\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Over the past five years, the Indian government has imposed bans on nine pro-freedom organizations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kashmir Media Service, the banned organizations include Jamaat-e-Islami, Jammu &amp; Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Jammu &amp; Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP), Muslim League, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH), Muslim Conference, Jammu &amp; Kashmir National Front, Jammu &amp; Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), and Jammu &amp; Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL).<\/p>\n<p>The bans were enforced due to the organizations\u2019 involvement in pro-freedom activities within the occupied territory<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan on Tuesday denounced the Indian authorities\u2019 decision to declare the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League and four factions of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League as \u201cunlawful associations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It also denounced the decision to extend the ban on Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (Mohd Yasin Malik faction) for five more years, Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press statement.<\/p>\n<p>India\u2019s ongoing campaign to crush dissent in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) contravened the international human rights and humanitarian law as well as democratic norms, the spokesperson further said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Government of India is urged to lift the curbs on the banned Kashmiri parties; release all the political prisoners, including Yasin Malik; and implement the UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir,\u201d it was reiterated.<\/p>\n<p>With the fresh notifications, a total of 14 Kashmiri political parties have become outlawed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).<\/p>\n<p>The affiliates of these parties are also facing persecution.
