An anti-terrorism court has extended till April 20 the pre-arrest bail of 79 suspects in the in May 9 riots, including former minister Asad Umar, Zain Qureshi and Farhat Abbas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Qureshi appeared before the court, while the lawyers of Umar and Abbas submitted applications seeking their exemption from personal appearance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sarwar Road police had registered the FIR under various provisions, including the Anti-Terrorism Act.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the hearing of bail applications of PTI leader Dr Yasmeen Rashid and others in a case of setting ablaze a PML-N office was adjourned till March 29 with directions to lawyers to present arguments on the next date.<\/span><\/p>\n

The applicants\u2019 lawyers argued that they had nothing to do with the charges on which they had been arrested. They requested the court to accept the bail applications. <\/span><\/p>\n
