The district administration has taken action against the profiteers and hoarders besides launching operation to control prices of edible items during the holy month of Ramazan.<\/p>\n

According to the price list provided by the Directorate of Municipal Corporation Islamabad, a sufficient relief was observed in different items including vegetables.<\/p>\n

The cost of onion took a nose dive by Rs 66 per kg. In a significant drop, prices plummeted from Rs 330 to Rs 264 per kg, bringing much-needed respite to consumers. Similarly, prices of tomatoes also seen a notable reduction of<\/p>\n

Rs 55 per kg, marking a decrease from Rs 160 to Rs 105 per kg.<\/p>\n

Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, the Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates, have continued crackdowns against hoarders and profiteers aimed to curb artificial price inflation, ensuring fair market rates for essential commodities.<\/p>\n

In a bid to maintain transparency and accountability, Price Control Magistrates are conducting thorough inspections across vegetable markets, Ramzan bazaars, and local shops.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, DC urged the masses to cooperate with the district administration to identify and check hoarders and profiteers in the area.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,The Assistant Commissioner (City) Farhan Ahmed on Monday conducted an operation against the surge in prices at the Sector G-6 Sasta Bazaar following the directives of the deputy commissioner Islamabad.<\/p>\n

As per the spokesperson of Islamabad Capital Territory Dr. Abdullah Tabassum, he visited the Sector G-6 Sasta Bazaar to enforce the price list and other regulations.<\/p>\n

Six individuals were apprehended by the assistant commissioner for failing to disclose the price list and were subsequently handed over to the police station. Others were fined and issued warnings on the occasion.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the Assistant Commissioner (Rural) Kamran Saghir launched an operation against price hikes and professional beggars across various areas.<\/p>\n

He inspected Imtiaz Mall, Gulberg Green, and adjacent areas to enforce price controls. He imposed fines and issued warnings for violations of government-fixed rates.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the assistant commissioner apprehended seven beggars from the precinct of Police Station Sihala and the Humak area.<\/p>\n

He also arrested professional beggars and sent them to the police station, while minors were handed over to the Edhi Center.<\/p>\n

It is important to note that operations against professional beggars, price hikes, and other infractions are conducted on a daily basis.<\/p>\n
