ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali said that the party stood by its decision to ally with the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), ARY News reported.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In a statement issued here, Barrister Gohar Ali said that some of the party leaders had a \u2018difference\u2019 of opinion in allying with the SIC, adding that the majority approved the decision.<\/span><\/p>\n

The PTI chairman termed the decision a \u2018right\u2019 one. He said that \u2018unlike\u2019 Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP), the PTI takes decision in consultation with the party\u2019s members.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe PTI\u2019s core committee holds many meetings to make a final decision,\u201d Barrister Gohar Ali added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Responding to Sher Afzal Marwat\u2019s statement in which he termed alliance with the SIC a mistake, the PTI chairman said that it was Marwat\u2019s opinion.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said that the PTI would fully participate in parliamentary politics and would neither boycott any elections nor resign from the assemblies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier on March 15, PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat called his party\u2019s merger with Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) \u2018a mistake\u2019 while demanding an investigation into the party\u2019s \u2018wrong decisions\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking to a private news channel, Afzal Marwat said that his party\u2019s alliance with Sunni-Ittehad Council (SIC) was \u2018a mistake\u2019 and is now paying the price in the form of losing its reserved seats.<\/span><\/p>\n

PTI sealed its alliance with the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) in a bid to claim its share of reserved seats in the national, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
