Punjab’s Local Government Minister, Zeeshan Rafique, has pledged to implement innovative sanitation models following the outcomes of the \u201cSuthra Punjab\u201d Programme,” emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing a clean environment for citizens.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a review meeting of the “Suthra Punjab Programme” held at the Civil Secretariat in Lahore on Friday, Minister Rafique highlighted the significance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s dedication to the cleanliness initiative.<\/p>\n

He lauded the public’s positive response to the large-scale cleaning campaign, emphasising their pivotal role in its success.<\/p>\n

Expressing satisfaction with the real-time updates on daily activities provided through the dashboard, Rafique emphasised the importance of learning from the challenges encountered during the campaign to develop effective long-term policies.<\/p>\n

Rafique underscored the deployment of modern technology and international standards in waste disposal, stressing the need for each district administration to ensure appropriate waste dumping sites.<\/p>\n

Notably, he highlighted the inclusion of villages in the cleaning campaign, signalling a comprehensive approach to sanitation efforts.<\/p>\n

In attendance, Local Government Secretary Shakeel Ahmad Mian emphasised the utilisation of district council resources in the Suthra Punjab campaign, pledging to address funding shortages in union councils.<\/p>\n
