A young milk-seller, who was shot and critically injured by muggers in Malir Cantt, succumbed to his wounds on Thursday night. The incident is particularly tragic because 27-year-old Jameel was scheduled to be married in two days. With the latest reckless murder, the number of people killed resisting robberies so far this year has climbed to 39.<\/p>\n

As per reports, Jameel was critically injured when armed muggers opened fire during a robbery at his milk shop in Syed Village on March 6. He was rushed to Dow Hospital where he fought for his life for nine days before passing away on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Khushi Muhammad, SHO Malir Cantt police station, disclosed that around midnight on March 6, Jameel was cleaning his milk shop with his two brothers when the robbers arrived on a motorcycle. Upon facing resistance, they opened fire, fatally hitting Jameel near his right shoulder before fleeing the scene. A case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s brother, and police are currently examining CCTV footage to further investigate the incident.<\/p>\n

The sudden loss of their son has shattered the elderly father, leaving him in deep mourning.<\/p>\n

According to the family, Jameel, along with his brothers, was closing the shop and preparing to leave on March 6 when the assailants arrived on a motorcycle. They first fired a gunshot into the air before Jameel attempted to apprehend them, triggering the assailants to fire again, fatally injuring him.<\/p>\n

The celebratory atmosphere of Jameel’s scheduled wedding turned into one of mourning. The family lamented the absence of the government’s writ in Syed Village, which is plagued by rampant robbery incidents, averaging four to five daily, with seemingly no intervention.<\/p>\n

They expressed concerns over possible police complicity in the crimes, accusing them of turning a blind eye to the increasing lawlessness. The family urged the chief minister and IG Sindh to not only acknowledge the surge in robbery incidents but also to apprehend the culprits and ensure justice is served.<\/p>\n

The bereaved family has transported Jameel’s body to their native area of Khairpur Mirs, where he will be laid to rest in the family graveyard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
