{"id":71581,"date":"2024-03-15T17:40:04","date_gmt":"2024-03-15T17:40:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/jui-f-challenges-cm-bugtis-constitutional-status\/"},"modified":"2024-03-15T17:40:04","modified_gmt":"2024-03-15T17:40:04","slug":"jui-f-challenges-cm-bugtis-constitutional-status","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/jui-f-challenges-cm-bugtis-constitutional-status\/","title":{"rendered":"JUI-F challenges CM Bugti&#8217;s constitutional status"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_79\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">QUETTA: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) challenged the constitutional status of Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bagti, ARY News reported.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In a legal notice, Hafeez Advocate of JUIF contended that Sarfraz Bagti had been the caretaker setup\u2019s Home Minister for six months.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0\u201cCaretaker cabinet members are not allowed to participate in the upcoming elections according to the constitution,\u201d the JUI-F leader argued.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Hafeez Advocate maintained that Sarfaraz Bugti\u2019s election campaign and subsequent victory from the Balochistan Assembly seat are unlawful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cSarfraz Bugti is holding chief minister Balochistan office unconstitutionally,\u201d the the JUI-F leader added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Earlier on March 2, Sarfraz Bugti took oath as Chief Minister Balochistan after being elected unopposed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Read More: <a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/sarfraz-bugti-sworn-in-as-balochistan-cm\/\">Sarfraz Bugti was sworn in as Balochistan CM<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The joint candidate of Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sarfraz Bugti bagged 41 votes in Balochistan in the CM election whereas other parties did not take part in the CM election.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In December 2023, then Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti resigned from the post to take part in the general elections in 2024.
