The meeting reviewed arrangements for the upcoming anti-polio campaign in Balochistan on October 2nd.<\/p>\n<p>Chief of the Emergency Operation Cell (EOC), Syed Zahid Shah briefed the meeting about the preparations for the anti-polio campaign in the province. Commissioner Quetta Division, Hamza Shafqaat and other high-ups were also present on the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>The provincial task force thoroughly discussed security arrangements and other administrative issues relating to the anti-polio campaign in Balochistan. Addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Qadir Shakeel Khan directed the officials to boost coordination among departments to make the campaign a success. \u201cThe government is determined to eradicate the poliovirus from Balochistan and the country\u201d, Shakeel Qadir Khan said.<\/p>\n<h2>EOC Chief Syed Zahid Shah briefs the meeting<\/h2>\n<p>Syed Zahid Shah, the head of the EOC said the polio volunteers were making tooth and nail efforts to make sure the provision of anti-polio drops to children under the age of five years in Balochistan. \u201cWe are trying hard to reduce the number of chronic refusals\u201d, Mr. Shah stated.<\/p>\n<p>The provincial health department has formed thousands of teams across Balochistan to eradicate the crippling virus. Balochistan has been polio-free for the last couple of years.
