A delegation from the World Bank recently conducted a comprehensive tour of vital water infrastructure in Karachi, Pakistan. This visit included an in-depth examination of the Dhabiji Pumping Station. Notable members of the delegation included Global Director Saroj Kumar Jha, Senior Expert Khairi Al-Jamal, Practice Manager Joss Mogabi, COO of the Water Corporation Engineer Assadullah Khan, and WSSP Deputy MD Planning Muhammad Ayub Sheikh, among other officials.<\/p>\n

The tour aimed to assess ongoing projects and explore ways to improve water supply and drainage systems in the city. During the visit, Engineer Assadullah Khan provided detailed insights into the operations of the Dhabiji Pumping Station, facilitating discussions on enhancing Karachi\u2019s water supply infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The World Bank delegation expressed their commitment to supporting the water corporation in improving water supply and drainage systems. Additionally, the delegation visited the Thatta Pumping Station, a crucial component of the K-4 project, which focuses on improving Karachi\u2019s water transmission system.<\/p>\n

PD WSSP Umar Maqbool and PD WSSP Aamir Mughal briefed the delegation on the project\u2019s progress and highlighted its significance in addressing Karachi\u2019s water scarcity.<\/p>\n

The K-4 project aims to supply water to Karachi from three reservoirs and pumping stations located 100 kilometers away, notably Kinjhar Lake in Thatta. Urgent efforts are underway to expedite the completion of the project to alleviate Karachi\u2019s water shortage.<\/p>\n

Overall, the World Bank delegation\u2019s visit underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing Karachi\u2019s water challenges and ensuring sustainable access to clean water for its residents.<\/p>\n
