{"id":67561,"date":"2024-03-05T06:16:03","date_gmt":"2024-03-05T06:16:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/lhc-dismisses-plea-seeking-sadiq-sanjranis-removal-as-senate-chairman\/"},"modified":"2024-03-05T06:16:03","modified_gmt":"2024-03-05T06:16:03","slug":"lhc-dismisses-plea-seeking-sadiq-sanjranis-removal-as-senate-chairman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/lhc-dismisses-plea-seeking-sadiq-sanjranis-removal-as-senate-chairman\/","title":{"rendered":"LHC dismisses plea seeking Sadiq Sanjrani&#8217;s removal as Senate chairman"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_79\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong>Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday dismissed plea seeking the removal of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani from his post as inadmissible, ARY News reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As per details, a citizen named Mashkoor Hussain filed a plea in Lahore High Court seeking the removal of Sadiq Sanjrani as Senate chairman.<\/p>\n<p>The plea stated that Sanjrani had been elected as a member of the Balochistan Assembly and he cannot retain both seats at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>Hence, the court should bar him from performing duties as Senate chairman and order to vacate his Senate seat, the plea stated.<\/p>\n<p>After the initial hearing, the LHC rejected the plea and directed the plaintiff to contact the Islamabad High Court in the matter.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read more:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/ecp-notifies-victory-of-sadiq-sanjrani-from-pb-32\/\">ECP notifies victory of Sadiq Sanjrani from PB-32<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) candidate and senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, obtained 19,748 votes and won from the PB-32 constituency in the general election 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued the notification, announcing the victory of the BAP candidate from the PB-32 constituency.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is pertinent to mention here that Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani is set to retire as a Senator in March 2024.
