{"id":67539,"date":"2024-03-05T05:20:07","date_gmt":"2024-03-05T05:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/20-pti-activists-in-lahore-granted-post-arrest-bail-in-may-9-case\/"},"modified":"2024-03-05T05:20:07","modified_gmt":"2024-03-05T05:20:07","slug":"20-pti-activists-in-lahore-granted-post-arrest-bail-in-may-9-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/20-pti-activists-in-lahore-granted-post-arrest-bail-in-may-9-case\/","title":{"rendered":"20 PTI activists in Lahore granted post-arrest bail in May 9 case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>LAHORE: An antiterrorism court on Monday granted post-arrest bail to 20 PTI activists in the Jinnah House attack case of May 9 riots.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Naveed Iqbal allowed the bail petitions of Ramzan Haider and other suspects subject to furnishing surety bonds.<\/p>\n<p>Sarwar Road police had registered the case against the leaders and workers of PTI on charges of attacking the Jinnah House, which also serves as residence of Lahore\u2019s corps commander, and burning down the property on May 9 last year.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  sm:w-1\/2  w-full  media--right  media--embed  media--uneven\">\n<p>    <iframe class=\"nk-iframe\" onload=\"setInterval(()=&gt;{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)\" width=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"height:400px;position:relative\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/card\/1799189\" sandbox=\"allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The party leaders and activists had attacked the public and private properties, especially the military facilities, as a protest against the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1817509\">Al-Qadir Trust case<\/a> by the National Accountability Bureau.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, the antiterrorism court extended <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1796484\">pre-arrest bail<\/a> of PTI\u2019s former secretary general Asad Umar in the Shadman police station attack case till March 7.<\/p>\n<p>The court also allowed an application of Asad Umar seeking a one-time exemption from personal appearance.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the antiterrorism court adjourned the trial proceedings of Askari Tower attack case against PTI\u2019s Punjab president Dr Yasmin Rashid, former governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema and others.<\/p>\n<p>Police produced 30 suspects, including PTI leaders, before the court.
