Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) Ali Raza Syed has strongly condemned the deportation of Kashmiri-origin British Professor Nitasha Kaul at Bangalore Airport by the Indian authorities.<\/p>\n

It should be remembered that Natasha Kaul, a Kashmiri-born Professor of political science at the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom, was not allowed to enter the country by the Indian immigration authorities at the airport in Bangalore, India.<\/p>\n

She was detained at the airport for many hours and then finally sent back to the UK. According to Professor Nitasha, the Indian authorities prevented her at the airport for 24 hours and then sent him back to the UK from the airport.<\/p>\n

Professor Kaul, a Kashmiri Pandit and British citizen, has often writes against the inhumane tactics and wrong policies of the Modi government. She is also a renowned novelist, writer and poet.<\/p>\n

Professor Nitasha was recently scheduled to arrive in Bangalore to attend a two-day seminar on \u201cDemocracy and Constitutional Values\u201d at the invitation of the Karnataka State Government. The Central Opposition Party Congress has the state government in Karnataka.<\/p>\n

Ali Raza Syed in his statement condemned the incident and said that there was no justification to stop Professor Natasha and deport her because, according to Professor Nitasha, she had all the necessary travel documents. Such an act is against basic principles of modern democratic societies including the freedom of human movement, freedom of speech and freedom of expression.<\/p>\n

Chairman Kashmir Council EU said that it is regrettable that the Indian immigration authorities did not give any reason for not allowing Prof. Nitasha to enter the country, nor was any notice or information given to her by the Indian government before her travel that they will not be allowed to enter the country.<\/p>\n

Ali Raza Syed added that it is a shame for India that its authorities did not allow an internationally renowned professor to enter their country, she was detained at the airport for 24 hours and then deported.<\/p>\n

He said that the Indian government is very narrow minded and hesitate to face the truth. Those who criticize the Modi government are not tolerated at all.<\/p>\n

Prof. Nitasha Kaul has also participated in the programs organized by the Kashmir Council EU on human rights in Occupied Kashmir at the European Headquarters in Brussels a few years ago.<\/p>\n

A similar barbaric and cruel attitude has been meted out to the people of Occupied Kashmir who have been severely suffering due to Indian state terrorism and oppression for seven and a half decades.<\/p>\n

Chairman Kashmir Council EU called upon the international community to take strict notice of India\u2019s misbehavior and cruel behavior.<\/p>\n

He said that although the people of Occupied Kashmir have been suffering from brutalities committed by Indian atrocities for a long time, their less news is reaching to the world. Human rights organizations and international media are not allowed to access there.<\/p>\n

Ali Raza Syed demanded from the international community that the Indian government should be stopped from violating human rights in Occupied Kashmir and that representatives of international human rights organizations and international media should be allowed to visit Occupied Kashmir so that the real facts there could reach the world.\u2014NNI<\/p>\n
