ISLAMABAD: People\u2019s Party leader Sherry Rehman has said that President Arif Alvi\u2019s actions damaging credibility of his august office, ARY News reported on Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Talking to media, Sherry Rehman questioned,\u201dWhy the President wants to commit violation of the constitution?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Alvi has still not summoned the National Assembly\u2019s session\u201d, former federal minister said. \u201cThe constitution has been very clear over the matter, see Article 91 (ii),\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The matter of the reserved seats has been in the hand of the election commission, she said. \u201cThe Sunni Ittehad Council should go ahead and work\u201d, Rehman said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have numbers and have joined hands with PML-N for government formation,\u201d she said. \u201cWe will not join the cabinet,\u201d PPP leader said. \u201cWe want progress of the constitutional and democratic process in the country,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Yesterday PML-N leader Ishaq Dar said that the President has to summon the National Assembly session upto February 29 at any cost.<\/p>\n

Former finance minister talking to media said that it is mandatory to convene the NA session within 21 days of the election.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has forwarded summary for the session on February 17, but the President has yet to sign it,\u201d Ishaq Dar said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf President Arif Alvi didn\u2019t sign the summary, the NA session will mandatorily be held on Feb 29,\u201d Dar said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
