QUETTA:<\/strong>\u00a0In a concerted effort to combat the resurgence of polio, Balochistan gears up for a seven-day anti-polio campaign set to commence on February 26. The initiative, spearheaded by the Coordinator of Emergency Operation Center Balochistan, Syed Zahid Shah, aims to administer drops across the province to safeguard public health.<\/p>\n

Expressing his determination, Shah emphasized the significance of this campaign in light of recent developments. \u201cAfter two and a half years of being polio-free, it is disconcerting to witness the reemergence of the virus in different districts of Balochistan during 2023,\u201d he stated in a recent press release.<\/p>\n

Shah Calls For Complete Eradication Of Polio Virus<\/h2>\n

Highlighting the importance of utilizing all available resources, Shah called for a unified approach to ensure the complete eradication of polio from the region. Despite the challenges posed by the recent developments, he commended the diligent efforts of health workers and the robust routine immunization system in place.<\/p>\n

With meticulous planning, over 11,000 teams comprising mobile units, fixed sites, and transit points are set to participate in the campaign. These teams, totaling 11,446, will blanket the province, aiming to reach every child and administer the necessary vaccinations.<\/p>\n
