He claimed that it was the reason the party had decided to nominate Barrister Ali Zafar as a candidate for the chairman\u2019s slot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr Gohar is a gentleman, but his performance was unsatisfactory. A cha\u00adirman needs to be active all the time,\u201d Mr Marwat said. He said that Mr Go\u00ad\u00adhar got three months but could not perform well, adding that Mr Gohar fai\u00adled to lead from the front after the election results.<\/p>\n<p>The PTI will hold <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1816244\">intra-party elections<\/a> on March 3. Imran Khan, the party\u2019s founding chairman, has nominated Mr Zafar as the candidate for the chairman slot.<\/p>\n<p>The show-cause notice to Mr Marwat, issued on Saturday and signed by PTI chief organiser Omar Ayub Khan, said: \u201cIt has come to the notice of the party leadership that you went against the party policy and gave a statement against Barrister Gohar Ali Khan which has caused significant distress that cannot be tolerated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Marwat, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1812806\/ptis-sher-afzal-marwat-makes-landslide-victory-in-lakki-marwats-na-41\">elected<\/a> as MNA from Lakki Marwat\u2019s NA-41 constituency, was advised in the notice to apologise for the remarks and submit a written reply within two days.<\/p>\n<p>The PTI earlier conducted its intra-party elections in Peshawar in December, in which all party representatives, including Barrister Gohar Khan as chairman, were elected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1794477\">unopposed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Election Commis\u00adsion of Pakistan (ECP) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1800094\">rejected<\/a> the party polls, a decision later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1805686\">upheld<\/a> by the Supreme Court.
