{"id":63985,"date":"2024-02-24T18:07:05","date_gmt":"2024-02-24T18:07:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/toshakhana-cipher-case-ihc-to-hear-imran-bushra-and-qureshis-pleas-against-sentences-pakistan-observer\/"},"modified":"2024-02-24T18:07:05","modified_gmt":"2024-02-24T18:07:05","slug":"toshakhana-cipher-case-ihc-to-hear-imran-bushra-and-qureshis-pleas-against-sentences-pakistan-observer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/toshakhana-cipher-case-ihc-to-hear-imran-bushra-and-qureshis-pleas-against-sentences-pakistan-observer\/","title":{"rendered":"Toshakhana, Cipher case: IHC to hear Imran, Bushra and Qureshi\u2019s pleas against sentences &#8211; Pakistan Observer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<tts-play-button data-id=\"2\" class=\"tts_play_button\"\/><\/p>\n<p>ISLAMABAD \u2013 The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has fixed hearing of the appeals moved by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood challenging sentences in the cipher case.<\/p>\n<p>The appeals of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have also been fixed against verdict in Un-Islamic Nikah case.<\/p>\n<p>The IHC constituted a special bench for the appeals of the PTI founders.<\/p>\n<p>The Registrar of the IHC set February 26th for the hearings of the appeals.<\/p>\n<p>A IHC special bench comprising Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb would hear the appeals of the PTI founder, Bushra Bibi and Shah Mahmood Qureshi.<\/p>\n<p>The pleas seeking suspension of the sentences and release on bail would also heard alongside.<\/p>\n<p>On other hand, the plea moved by Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhary against contempt case of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also been fixed for hearing.<\/p>\n<p>A LHC three-member bench headed by Justice Aalia Neelum would take up the case on February 26.<\/p>\n<p>Before the general elections, \u00a0the ECP conducted hearing of the cases against Imran Khan and Fawad Chauhdhary. ECP Sindh Member Nisar Durrani had presided over the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Shoaib Shaheen and Faisal Chaudhary had represented both Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhary before the ECP.<\/p>\n<p>Shoaib Shaheen had submitted that he appeared before the ECP in compliance of its order and requested it to adjourn the proceedings.
