{"id":63470,"date":"2024-02-23T11:30:04","date_gmt":"2024-02-23T11:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/pti-founder-files-pleas-against-toshakhana-cipher-case-convictions-again\/"},"modified":"2024-02-23T11:30:04","modified_gmt":"2024-02-23T11:30:04","slug":"pti-founder-files-pleas-against-toshakhana-cipher-case-convictions-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/pti-founder-files-pleas-against-toshakhana-cipher-case-convictions-again\/","title":{"rendered":"PTI founder files pleas against Toshakhana, Cipher case convictions again"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_87\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong>ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Friday filed pleas against convictions in the cipher and Toshakhana case in Islamabad High Court again, ARY News reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PTI founder Imran Khan\u2019s convictions in cipher, Toshakhana and the \u2018un-Islamic\u2019 Nikah case, were earlier challenged in the Islamabad High Court.<\/p>\n<p>However, the pleas were taken back by Khan\u2019s counsel after objections from the IHC registrar\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>Bushra Bibi, the wife of former prime minister Imran khan also challenged the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hTqZ8eWPlwk\">toshakhana case trail court verdict in IHC again<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Cipher case<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On January 30, a special court hearing cipher case handed a 10-year jail term, each, to former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.<\/p>\n<p>Both the PTI leaders were accused of conspiracy to misuse the contents of the cipher to fulfill nefarious purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The court in its verdict said the prosecution had enough evidence to prove the charges against the former prime minister and ex-foreign minister.<\/p>\n<div class=\"align-content-center \">\n<div class=\"wrapperStickyContainerAU\">\n<h4 class=\"spotDivAU\"><strong>Toshakhana case<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On January 31, an Accountability Court (AC) awarded 14 years each imprisonment to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case.<\/p>\n<p>The verdict was pronounced by AC Judge Muhammad Bashir.
