SHC orders PTA to restore social media site \u2018X\u2019<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court(SHC) has ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to restore the suspended social media site X across the country.<\/p>\n

In the statement released by the court, it has been said that the X service should be restored without any interruption or shutdown.<\/p>\n

The petitioner\u2019s lawyer said that the Minister of Interior has stated that the directive to close X has not been issued. The Prime Minister, the Interior Minister, and the Minister of IT are using X by installing a VPN and telling the nation that X is not closed.<\/p>\n

Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi inquired about who closed the sites and who ordered to keep them closed.<\/p>\n

The petitioner\u2019s lawyer said that only the PTA has the authority to shut down the X, to keep the service slow.<\/p>\n

The petitioner\u2019s lawyer added that journalists and those whose livelihoods are linked to X are facing serious difficulties. The millions of people associated with media and research are facing difficulties due to the closure of X.<\/p>\n

Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi asked how many days X service is closed. We have already ordered to open internet service in a petition.<\/p>\n

The petitioner\u2019s lawyer said that this application is different from the case. The day Commissioner Rawalpindi stated how we rigged X has been closed since that day.<\/p>\n
