IT exports goes up by 39% in January: Dr Umar Saif\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Dr Umar Saif has said that IT exports in January witnessed an increase of 39.4 percent to $265 million compared to $190 million in the same month of the last fiscal year.<\/p>\n

\u201cPakistan\u2019s IT industry continues to grow and sets new records. IT exports in January are up by 39.4 percent to $265 million, compared to $190 million in the same month in 2023,\u201d the minister posted on X.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the minister disclosed that IT exports during the first seven months of the current fiscal year (July-January) reached $1.7 billion, marking a 13 percent increase from $1.5 billion in the corresponding period of the last year.<\/p>\n

Earlier,\u00a0Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs.5.150 trillion since July 2023 to mid of February 2024 against Rs.3.973 trillion over the same period last fiscal year, showing growth of 30 percent.<\/p>\n

During the course of this period, tax refunds grew by more than 28 percent, according to press statement issue by Finance Ministry here Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Overall growth in the domestic taxes has been around 40%, while import duty and related taxes grew by 16% over July 2023 to January 2024 period. The growth in revenues gained momentum as GDP has revived and FBR collection has come under tighter scrutiny.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
