KARACHI \u2013 The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday set aside appointment of Munawar Ali Shah as Inspector General of Prisons, Sindh.<\/p>\n

The court passed the order on petition moved against appointment of Munawar Ali Shah as Inspector General of Prisons department.<\/p>\n

During the hearing, the counsel for the petitioner told the court that the Sindh government gave additional charge to Munawwar Shah last year but his temporary charge was converted into a permanent appointment on November 1.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are senior officers in the department, and appointment of Munawar Shah on the top position is tantamount to violating their rights,\u201d argued the counsel.<\/p>\n

The post of IG Prison is for Grade-21 while Munawar Shah is a Grade-20 officer.<\/p>\n

He asked the court to set aside the appointment of Munawar Shah as IG Prison Sindh.<\/p>\n

After hearing arguments, the court allowed the petition and declared his appointment as null and void.<\/p>\n
