Governor Punjab Muhammad BalighurRehman has said that physically challenged people have extraordinary abilities who set an example for other people with their determination and courage.<\/p>\n

He said this while talking to a delegation of persons with special needs headed by Dr. Khalid Jameel, which called on him at the Governor House, Lahore on Tuesday. The problems faced by physically challenged people were discussed in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, BalighurRehman said that there was a need to change social attitudes towards such people. He said that these people are sensitive people and have immense abilities. Social behaviors that hurt them need to be discouraged.<\/p>\n

Governor Punjab said that he will also urge the Punjab government and the relevant departments to provide ramps and other necessary facilities for the access of wheelchairs in the buildings and public transport for the persons with special needs. He said that it was important to give special attention and respect to special people so that these people can play a positive role in the development of the country by becoming useful citizens of the society.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Dr. Khalid Jameel, President of an NGO for special people, Senior Vice President Dr. AfafManzoor and Secretary General Mian Muhammad Azhar were present. Governor Punjab assured his full support for the participation of persons with special needs in sports and society.<\/p>\n
