Hollywood A-lister Kate Winslet reflected on the \u2018horrible\u2019 fame, post the release of the blockbuster romance-disaster epic \u2018Titanic\u2019<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hollywood\u2019s Oscar-winning female star, Kate Winslet revealed why she consciously chose to do smaller projects after James Cameron\u2019s \u2018Titanic\u2019<\/em>, despite the global success of the film.<\/p>\n

Reflecting upon the media scrutiny and body image issues after the title, the \u2018Avatar: The Way of Water\u2019<\/em> actor shared, \u201cI felt like I had to look a certain way or be a certain thing, and because media intrusion was so significant at that time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Winslet continued, \u201cMy life was quite unpleasant. Journalists would always say, \u2018After Titanic<\/em>, you could have done anything and yet you chose to do these small things\u2019\u2026 and I was like, \u2018Yeah, you bet your life I did! Because, guess what, being famous was horrible.’\u201d<\/p>\n

However, despite all these unpleasant aspects, the actor asserted that \u2018it is not a burden\u2019 for her, as the film \u2018continues to bring people huge amounts of joy\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only time I am like, \u2018Oh God, hide,\u2019 is if we are on a boat somewhere,\u201d she quipped.<\/p>\n

\u2018Titanic\u2019<\/em>, carrying Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater respectively, sailed into theatres on December 19, 1997. The film went on to bag 11 Academy Awards out of the 14 nods, including \u2018Best Picture\u2019 and \u2018Best Director\u2019 for Cameron.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the disaster epic was also the highest-grossing film of all time until 2009, before Cameron\u2019s other juggernaut \u2018Avatar\u2019<\/em> broke the record.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
