The security forces on Sunday killed a ring leader of global terrorist outfit Daesh in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber district, according to the military\u2019s media wing.<\/p>\n

A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) read that an intense exchange of fire took place during the operation, in which a high-profile terrorist, identified as Daesh commander Surat Gul alias Saif Ullah was eliminated.<\/p>\n

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also found on the slain terrorist.<\/p>\n

The ISPR said the Daesh commander remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the country including targeted killing of innocent civilians as well as extortion and was \u201chighly wanted\u201d by the law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n

It added that a sanitisation operation was being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area.<\/p>\n

The military\u2019s media wing further said the locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support for eliminating the menace of terrorism.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
