Hollywood director James Cameron revealed he has ideas for the sixth and seventh films of the critically acclaimed \u2018<\/span>Avatar<\/span><\/em>\u2018 franchise.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

James Cameron talked about the future of the franchise in an interview with the United States lifestyle news agency People.\u00a0<\/span>The report stated that the third film is scheduled to release in 2025, whereas the fourth and fifth movies could see the light in 2029 and 2031.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The sixth and seventh films will be released in mid 2030s. James Cameron said he has ideas for them but may not direct it as he could die by the time it happen.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re fully written through movie five, and I\u2019ve got ideas for six and seven, although I\u2019ll probably be handing the baton on at that point,\u201d James Cameron said as quoted by People in its report. \u201cI mean, mortality catches up. But we\u2019re enjoying what we\u2019re doing. We\u2019re loving it. We get to work with great people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The director said his vision is for \u2018<\/span>Avatar<\/span><\/em>\u2018 to be as renowned as other prolific franchises such as Star Wars and Star Trek.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cStar Trek, Star Wars..the world-building franchises that have been around since I was a kid, those were my inspirations. We\u2019re still a young universe. We\u2019re only two movies in, we\u2019re halfway through our third right now. To have that kind of cultural impact over time, you got to pour all your heart and energy into it,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u2018<\/span>Avatar<\/span><\/em>\u2018 franchise began in 2010. It followed Jake Sully, a paraplegic soldier, replacing his brother on the Na\u2019vi-inhabited Pandora for a mission. He calls accepted by the natives as one of their own but must decide where his loyalties lie.<\/span><\/p>\n
