QUETTA:<\/strong>\u00a0In anticipation of the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8 in Balochistan, preparations have been meticulously finalized for the 16 seats in the National Assembly and 51 seats in the Provincial Assembly. Provincial Election Commissioner Farid Ahmed Afridi, during a press briefing in Quetta, assured the public of full coordination with all stakeholders to ensure peaceful and transparent elections.<\/p>\n

Afridi disclosed that out of a total of 5026 polling stations in the province, 1651 are marked as most sensitive, and 2249 are as sensitive. To guarantee the smooth conduct of the electoral process, a comprehensive training program has been completed for the 51379 polling officers and other staff involved.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the paramount importance of security, the Provincial Election Commissioner stated that 30943 security personnel have been strategically deployed to maintain law and order during the elections. In a bid to address security concerns in the most sensitive polling stations across certain districts, arrangements are being made for satellite internet, given the shutdown of normal internet services.<\/p>\n

These security measures aim to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process and create an environment conducive to free and fair elections.
